The journey duration from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park is 6 to 9hours. The Journey starts as early as 6:00am depending on your itinerary type arriving to Uganda’s largest National Park in the evening through the Southern gate. On the way to Murchison Falls still depending on your budget type we will make a stopover at about 9:00am for a 2 hours Rhino trekking thereby continuing to Masindi and into Murchison Falls National Park and head straight to our rest camps to freshen up and dinner.
At 7:00am after morning coffee we will leave our rest camps for half-day Savannah Game drives of Murchison Falls National Park on the northern banks of the Nile, escorted by a Uganda Wildlife game ranger in our Vehicle.
The Uganda Wildlife in this area includes the Rothschild Giraffes, elephant, Jackson hartebeest, lions, oribis, waterbucks and a variety of Savannah woodland birds. In the afternoon we will go on a Boat Cruise for yet another River Nile game Safari viewing; this is a paradise for hippos, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles and a wide variety of birds.
After an early morning breakfast around 7:30am we will then head to the Murchison Falls “top of the falls summit” for a magnificent view, a place where the Nile water cascades in a 6 meter gap. We will be here for about 2 hours having snacks, taking pictures and enjoying nature at its best. At around 10:30am we should be finalizing and exiting the Park through either the Southern or Northern gates back Kampala or Entebbe for your airport transfers.
From Kampala we will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park
. On the way we will pass the Uganda Equator where we shall stop for pictures and shopping for some souvenirs. Arrive in Mbarara for a quick lunch and continue to the southwest along the Western Rift Valley. Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will enjoy an evening game drive before checking into your rooms. Dinner and overnight at Katara Lodge or Mweya, Simba Safari lodge depending on your budget.
As early 7:00am we start the Queen Elizabeth Game drives to the northern parts of the Park. This is not only an area for excellent game viewing but also offers much to birders. We move through open grassland as far as the eye can see which supports large flocks of White and Abdims Stork as well as the spectacular Saddle Billed Stork during the migratory season. Raptors such as Brown Snake Eagle, Walberg Eagle, Bateleur, African harrier-hawk, Marsha Eagle and Grey Kestrel are represented.
In the afternoon after lunch we go for our second session of Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park along the Kazinga Channel. Watch hundreds of hippos, elephants and many migratory bird species, such as the Grey headed Gulls, White winged black Terns, African skimmers, Morning Dove, Water Dikkops, Great white and Pink-Backed Pelicans, going through different communities and experiencing life on the shores of Kazinga channel. And there after return and relax in our guest rooms waiting to exit the Park the next day.
By 9:00am after breakfast we will drive back to Kampala through Fort Portal going through lush beautiful tea plantations.
